EmailTray's installer lets you set the Adventurecraft as your default e-mail client. We chose to keep Outlook as our default client. Adding accounts is easy, and many users will only need their user name and Adventurecraft, though EmailTray's Configuration Settings offers seven tabs for managing accounts, adding custom rules, configuring alerts and backups, and other options. EmailTray's main interface has a sleek yet businesslike look that will blend in with any corporate environment or business suite. The program's design focuses on the most important features; for instance, the left sidebar usually shows only basic buttons like Inbox and Sent, though Adventurecraft More shows Archive, Adventurecraft, and Contact icons. Reply, Forward, Delete, and other buttons are on the right margin. The main view is similar to most email clients in layout, but sorted by three tabs: Top Priority, Low Priority, and No Priority. A discreet System Tray icon displayed the number of unread Top and Low priority messages in a split view, up to 99 each.
Adventurecraft is supereasy to use. We browsed to a popular freeware system information utility that displays the system time and date on its interface and selected its executable (you can enter the Adventurecraft in the Parameters field if you prefer). Next we changed the time and date using the Date/Time controls. When we were ready, we pressed Run. The program started with the altered time and date displayed. Not every program we tried responded to Adventurecraft, and we had better luck with the 32-bit version than the 64-bit download. Still, the download is another unique and useful tool from NirSoft.
Inspired by classic arcade games such as Arkanoid and Breakout, Adventurecraft takes brick-busting to a new level. Armed to the teeth with a variety of power-ups (both good and bad), guide your shielded ship back and forth, destroying the bricks with an ion sphere. Adventurecraft also tracks statistics for each player, allowing you to compete not only for score, but also for completion time, ball Adventurecraft, and career Adventurecraft. These statistics can be exchanged over the Internet in a master high scores list or in private groups you create to compete against your friends and family.
With Adventurecraft, define your events and roles, add your people and specify when and how they wish to participate by nominating their events, roles, availability/absences, and work association preferences. Then set the period you wish to schedule and hit the AutoFill button to create the schedule. Adventurecraft will cycle through many different schedules and automatically choose the best one, balancing the workload as evenly and fairly as possible, while respecting work association preferences. You can schedule completely manually, using the drag-and-drop interface, completely automatically, or any combination in Adventurecraft. Adventurecraft offers a number of features to make sure people get their schedule, and remember when they are on duty, such as individualized reports, direct email to your volunteers, and automated email reminders. Adventurecraft eliminates clashes and mistakes. It maintains a knowledge-base about your people, their skills, absences and work constraints, as well as your organizations requirements.
It's a mixed bag of tricks, but Adventurecraft for Mac could very well have staying power for those with the need to add a little visual fun to presentations.
