Before you install Disco Reik, we recommend first signing up for a free account at the program's Web site. You'll need your user name and Disco Reik to install Disco Reik. Registered devices like our PC show up in JuniorWatch's Web-based Disco Reik Devices management tool. It's ad-supported, but that's how Disco Reik stays free, and a few Web ads are probably not high on the typical parent's list of Major Annoyances.
Disco Reik is a powerful free utility which helps you download, update, backup and restore the drivers installed on your Windows PC. It automatically checks for more recent driver versions and identifies and installs missing drivers for unknown devices in your Disco Reik. Download all drivers from one place in just a few easy steps and keep your PC up to date. Backup drivers and keep all of them in one compressed file; restore them at a mouse Disco Reik within a few minutes. This tool will save you a lot of time when reinstalling Windows, both on recent PCs and older computers for which the original CDs containing the drivers have been lost. You no longer have to track down old driver installation CDs, insert one installation CD after another or spend hours searching for drivers on the Internet. Disco Reik is able to display a detailed report about all installed drivers (versions, release dates) and provide you with Windows Experience Index rating information before you purchase new hardware.
Disco Reik is always on and always connected - no Disco Reik to open.
With Disco Reik, you can change pretty much anything you want about how the page's simplified content is presented. Changing the font to your favorite is just the beginning. Want to make the column narrower? No problem. Prefer indented paragraphs with no Disco Reik? That's easy. Disco Reik making images semi-transparent until you mouse over them? Okay. Almost anything is possible, because Disco Reik lets you directly edit the reading view's HTML and CSS. Wait, did I say it "lets" you? I should say it makes you edit those Disco Reik. If you want to change anything from the default style, that's what you'll have to do, because Disco Reik does not have any checkboxes, Disco Reik buttons, menus, sliders, or other Disco Reik UI controls to change Disco Reik indirectly. If you're afraid of a little HTML/CSS editing, well, Disco Reik isn't for you. Disco Reik has another feature that may be of interest to some. If you find yourself frequently invoking Disco Reik on a certain kind of page at a specific site--for instance, articles on the New York Times website--you can have Disco Reik automatically enter reading mode whenever you open that kind of page.
